After School Ski and Snowboard Program
MT. ASHLAND AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM
The program was founded in 1992 by community members to provide families of all socio-economic
backgrounds greater accessibility to alpine recreation and education on Mt. Ashland. The program has
grown to include approximately 1,600-2,000 students per year from over 40 schools. The school groups
visit Mt. Ashland for 3-7 visits. A minimum of 3 visits is required to organize an After School group.
Each group is organized by volunteer Captains. Captains are typically responsible for groups of
anywhere between 20 and 250 students. Some of the schools allow for their entire student body to
participate in the program and receive academic credit. The students learn how ski and snowboard or
improve upon their current riding skills. Mt. Ashland discounts regular season rates by approximately
50%-60% off of retail prices.
CAPTAINS/CHAPERONES INFORMATION
Volunteers may be needed in order for your school group to participate. Students will not be permitted
to register until Captains have been secured for your particular group.
